Thumbs up Belgium CRX D14A1

Hi all,

Little intro of myself. My name is Yves and i Live in Belgium. I found my way to this forum from a Belgian Honda forum.
I am 22 years old and Honda fanatic. I drive a 1991 CRX 1400cc dual carb. Motor code: D14A1. With 135000 km's.

So, my first question: How the f**k can i get some more pump out of this D14A1. In Belgium they all suggest to swap the whole thing, but due to the technical car control we have here every year it is impossible to pass if they see you have an other motor in your car...
What are my options? Mini-me? Weber carbs?... I would like to hear the specialists over here!
I can buy a D16Z6 upper block to perform a mini-me, but i don't have an oil re-tour on my D14A1... that's the problem i think.

So, what to do EXCEPT a swap...

Greetings from Belgium

Yves

Welcome to JDMU I think your best bet is going to swap to a SOHC VTEC or do the Mini Me swap...but what do you mean by Oil re-tour??

A complete swap is not that easy in Belgium... A mini-me has more chance to hit the car control over here...
But i really don't know which head i should take...
I have carbs, v-tec is injection... It would make me change my fuel tank if i would go vtec...

If you swap the motor with EFI then you would have to change the fuel pump, distributor, ecu, etc... What do they check for in a "car control"? Is it a visual check? Emissions? Both?

They do emission check, motor code check, etc...
K, so if i understand good, i better go for a complete swap? But again, i would have to change the whole crap...
Is there any other possibility like putting in a SOHC dual carb honda motor that has more power standard?
And putting on Weber carbs... Isn't that effective to?

Greetings

It seems that putting Webers sidedrafts would be out of the question. If "car control" has a problem with a swap, they are going to shit when they see those huge sidedrafts! I think there is only two options...1-swap, 2-carbs. Anybody else have any ideas.
